Christmas Shutters

Just in time for the holidays, we made some replacement shutters with an evergreen motif. The tree was traced from an old, damaged shutter, digitized, and run through the CNC machine.

Speeding Up The Aging Process

We made a mantle for one of our clients a while back and had a chance to experiment with faux aging. Starting with a new piece of pine, we passed the grinder over it to replicate saw marks before beating it up with a trailer hitch.

After the brute force stage, it was science time. To achieve the dark, aged color, we brushed the wood with hydrogen peroxide and then a solution of vinegar which had steel wool soaking in it for a couple of hours. The steel straps were speed-rusted by soaking them in hydrogen peroxide and salt.

The end result was pretty convincing. For a finishing touch, the client hand painted the inlaid crest that we had made on our CNC machine.

It's always nice to work with another local business. This custom display case was made for a great little coffee shop down the road.

Cabinets, cabinets everywhere!

We're building 75 uppers in one big batch for an apartment complex and the shop is starting to feel a little cramped. The guys are really rocking on these.

Light-up closets

Why bother with a wall switch when you can just open the door and have light? We made these custom, rift-cut white oak closets with integrated LED strips for a NYC client. One-off projects like this keep things interesting.

Portugal Day

We were proud to help sponsor this year's Portugal Day in Ossining. Most of the Hudson crew made it out and we had a great catching up with friends and family.
